Tribute to Elizabeth Zimmermann - knitted shawl
Elizabeth Zimmermann was a legendary anglo-american knitter, who has inspired generations of knit enthousiasts - among them EclatDuSoleil/Hélène Marcy. Hélène designed this shawl as a tribute to the Great Elizabeth.
It's a triangular shawl worked top down from the center.
The pattern is written, except the simple lace pattern which is explained through a diagram.
Hélène worked her shawl with 75 g yak down and 15 g yellow laceweight wool. If you would prefer to use another yarn, the laceweight alpaca is an interesting alternative (you will need approximately 100 g in the main colour and 25 g in the contrasting colour for the border).
Recommended needle : a 3.75 mm (US 5) circular needle (the shawl is worked in rows, but a long needle is needed because of the large number of stitches in the border).
This product contains only the pattern for the design, available as a downloadable pdf-file.
