Stina - knitted blanket
The softness of organic cotton will make this little blanket a favourite companion for a baby or child all year long. Its diagonal construction and the colour play obtained thanks to the used of a yarn held double makes it both interesting and simple to knit.
The blanket is knitted diagonally from the bottom right corner to the top left corner. The rate of increases and decreases used to shape it is adapted according to the stitch patterns in the different stripes (stockinette or garter stitch). The use of a fingering yarn held double makes for an interesting colour play between solids and heathered. This colour play is maintained in the simple crocheted border.
The pattern is text only (no charts).
Size of the finished blanket: approx. 88 x 62 cm (34.75" x 24.5")
The two blankets in the pictures were worked in Annette Petavy Design's Organic Cotton. You will need 4 balls of each of the two colour. For the orange/violet blanket, the colours "pumpkin" and "eggplant" were used. The blanket in green/grey was knitted with the colours "sunlit moss" and "grey hemp".
You can also work this blanket in another fingering weight yarn held double, such as the fingering weight merino or alpaca in my shop.
