North Cape - knitted shawl
North Cape is an easy knitted shawl with just a touch of lace. If you are just starting to knit lace patterns, it's a great introduction. And if you are more experienced, North Cape will be a both relaxing and entertaining project.
This large and soft shawl has a little something for everyone: garter stitch, a touch of colour and an easy lace pattern. North Cape is designed by Annette Petavy.
The shawl is shaped as an elongated triangle. It's knitted from the top down, starting at the center top.
The lace pattern is explained both with charts and written instructions - choose what suits you best.
North Cape was knitted using 7 balls of the Life Style yarn: 5 balls in col A (main colour) and 2 balls in col B (the contrast colour for the stripes). This yarn can be substituted by another sport weight yarn.
Needle: A 4.5 mm (US 6) circular needle or the size needed to get gauge, 100 cm (40") or 120 cm (47") long.
Gauge: 18 sts x 36 rows in garter stitch after blocking = 10 cm (4").
This product contains only the pattern for the design, sold as a downloadable pdf file.
