Red Sun - knitted shawlette
EclatDuSoleil introduces Red Sun, a two-coloured shawlette that's both sophisticated and easy to wear.
The striped center part is worked as a "baktus", from one side-tip to the other. The border, including both a cable and a lace pattern forming pointy tips, is knitted onto the center part. The entire shawlette is reversible.
The pattern is written for the center of the shawl and charted for the border.
The shawl in the pictures was worked in two fingering weight yarns. The red was dyed by the designer. Among the yarns in the shop, the fingering weight merino or the alpaca in the same weight would work very well, either in two solid colours or in combination with the Mini Mochi yarn. You will need approx 350 m (380 yds) in the main colour (red in the photos) and 210 m (230 yds) in the contrasting colour (grey in the photos).
Recommended needle: a 4 mm (US 6) circular needle (adapt needle size to your yarn and gauge).
This product contains only the pattern for the design, sold as a downloadable pdf-file.
