Solfège - knitted cowl
The stitch pattern in this cowl makes me think of a music stave. "Solfège" means "music theory" in French, hence the name. With this cowl I wanted to make a small accessory that can be worn in several ways. With the three buttons, Solfège is very adaptable to your outfit and mood of the day. The yarn is soft and pretty, and on 5 mm needles, this is a quick project.
The pattern is written and completed with photos. I have tried to write it in a way that makes Solfège accessible for anyone knowing how to cast on, knit and bind off.
To knit Solfège, you will need 100 g of worsted weight merino (col A) and 1 ball of Mochi Plus (col B), or approx 165 m (180 yds) in col A and 85 m (95 yds) in col B in a worsted weight yarn.
The cowl in the pictures was knitted using worsted weight merino in col duck green and Mochi Plus in col Equinoxe.
Recommended needles: 5 mm (US 8), or the size needed to get gauge.
Gauge: 17 sts = 10 cm wide in garter stitch.
