Corolle - crochet shawl
Corolle is a sophisticated and feminin shawl designed by EclatDuSoleil/Hélène Marcy. The contrast between the light and airy center and the large ruffled border gives it plenty of personality. Besides its beauty, the border gives the shawl excellent drape and underlines its crescent shape.
The center is worked from side to side, as a "baktus". A small edging is added to the top of the shawl, to tighten the edge and underline the shape. Finally, the large border with its opulent flowers is added at the bottom edge.
The pattern is both written and illustrated with charts. The pattern uses US terminology.
The shawl in the photos was crocheted in a vintage laceweight yarn at 300 m (330 yds) per 50 g. You will need around 1500 m (1640 yds) of yarn. The designer suggests the use of laceweight alpaga, yak down, laceweight wool or the London yarn in wool and silk - click on "accessories" above to find links to these yarns.
Recommended hook size: 3 mm (US C-2 to D-3) - adapt the hook size to the yarn used and your way of crocheting.
