Glimma - crochet shawl
Glimma is a crochet shawl with a textured stitch pattern which is fun and easy to make. The sequin-sprinkled border contains a couple more original stitches for a special touch.
Wrap it around your neck to protect you from the breeze, or drape it over your shoulders on a cool summer's evening, Glimma will be a gentle companion in all circumstances.
Glimma is a Swedish word meaning ‘sparkle’.
The shawl is crocheted from top to bottom, growing as you go. Its shape is an elongated triangle, making it easy to wear.
Dimensions after blocking: approx 178 cm wingspan and 66 cm height at the tip.
The pattern for Glimma is explained both in writing and with charts.
Glimma is crocheted using 2 balls of Scheepjes Whirlette for the centre (60% cotton, 40% acrylic; 455 m/100g) and 2 balls of Annette Petavy Design Cotton & sequins for the border (95% cotton, 5% polyester; 105 metres per 25g ball).
Hook: 3 mm (US C-2 or D), or the size needed to get gauge.
Gauge: 22 sts x 18 rows in the stitch pattern used in the body of the shawl = 10 cm after blocking.
The stitch pattern in the body of the shawl is explained in the pattern. For swatching purposes, a swatch in solid dc will give a good indication of the stitch gauge (the row gauge will be different).
This product contains only the pattern for the design, sold as a downloadable pdf file.
