Broceliande - crocheted moebius
Broceliande, designed by Nathalie Mainsant, is an accessory that will follow you all year long. The moebius shape (aring with a half-twist) can be worn as a shawl over your shoulders in summer evenings, as a scarf during spring and autumn, and as a cozy cowl rolled around your neck in winter.
Broceliande is a ring with a half-twist created during the first round (everything is clearly explained in the pattern). Subsequent rows will add height to the ring both upwards and downwards.
Nathalie has written the pattern in two sizes: S/M (col dark carmine and grey hemp in the photos) and L/XL (col mandarine and cloud grey). The size S/M can be worn over narrow to medium-width shoulders. If you prefer a larger shawl with more drape, choose the size L/XL. The pictures show both sizes worn by a person with narrow shoulders.
The patterns is written with plenty of charts.
This pattern uses US terminology.
The two sizes can be crocheted in fingering weight merino or in organic cotton. In the pictures, the size S/M was made in organic cotton (col dark carmine and grey hemp) and the size L/XL in fingering weight merino (col mandarine and cloud grey).
