Siebold - crochet shawl
In this big crescent-shaped shawl, your hook will form delicate leaves from the upper edge to the bottom border. To underline the curved shape, the "wings" of the shawl see more leaves sprouting than the center. In my version, these leaves are blue... making me think of the Hosta sieboldiana.
You will start by crocheting a small crescent from one side tip to the other, then continuing to work from the curved edge of this first crescent, down to the border. The increases are part of the stitch pattern.
The pattern is both written and charted. It uses US terminology
The shawl in the pictures was made with 4 balls of my laceweight bamboo yarn. If desired, substitute approx 1080m/1180yds of another laceweight yarn
Recommended hook size: 3 mm (US C-2 or D3) or the size needed to get gauge.
Gauge : 32 dc x 10 rows = 10 cm/4" in a solid dc gauge swatch after blocking
