Scottish Island - crochet shawl

The lace stitch in the center is easy to work and adapt in size. Go for a contrasting border - or continue in the same yarn, if you prefer a one-colour shawl!

Scottish Island is worked from the top center down, and can be easily made bigger or smaller.

For the version shown here, you will need a total of approx. 630 m (690 yds) of a fingering weight yarn: 420 m (460 yds) in the main colour and 210 m (230 yds) for the border.

With this kind of yarn, the designer suggests a 4 mm (US G-6) hook. If you choose another yarn weight, remember to use a larger hook than the one recommended for the yarn.
