The simplicity of the center part underlines the magnificent border, inspired by a vintage pattern from 1916.
Here, Lune rouge is worked in a cotton yarn in a vibrant red. However, it is easy to imagine this design crocheted in wool or alpaca, or a yarn with more shine and drape such as bamboo or silk.
Among the yarns in the shop, the organic cotton works perfectly for this design. Amount required: 3 balls.

The pattern is illustrated with many step-by-step photos.
Lune rouge is easy to crochet, but the border will require some attention.
The shawl in the photos was crocheted with approx 480 m (525 yds) of a cotton yarn at approx 150 m (165 yds) per 50 g (1.75 oz).
The yarn used was Fonty's Coton Club 2 fils.
Suggested hook size: 3,5 mm (US E-4).
The pattern uses US terminology.
