Heloise is a triangular shawl where tradition meets the present times.

The stitch patterns based on fans and V-stitches are directly inspired by classical shawls, while the swirl border is a nod to the inventive and contemporary designer Nicky Epstein.

The density of the center of the shawl contrasts beautifully avec the very lacey outer part. Heloise will make the most of any yarn. The pattern is written so that you can adapt it to the yarn of your choice and to your desire regarding the size.

Heloise is worked top down. The border is crocheted directly after the center of the shawl, in one piece.

For a shawl like the one in the photos, you will need approx. 665 m (730 yds) of a light fingering weight yarn. The shawl should be crocheted with a slightly larger hook than the one recommended for the yarn.
