Tweed Merino is an airy, warm 100% merino yarn. Each colour is delicately shaded with tiny coloured ‘buttons’.

This yarn has a very good yardage, with each 50g ball containing 350 metres of yarn. Even with this yardage, it is to be considered a fingering or light fingering weight.
The lightness of the yarn makes for a typical gauge of 28 sts per 10 cm with 3 mm needles.

The spinning process gives it a slightly textured surface, making it very suitable for knitting with two strands (two strands of Tweed Merino or held together with another yarn).
Knitted with two strands Tweed Merino or combined with one strand of Mohair and silk or Exquis, it works up to a gauge of 20 sts per 10 cm using 4 mm needles.

Tweed Merino is also very suitable for jacquard work.
